Pure merino wool yarns

Regular base yarns

Tenderness – 100% extrafine merino wool – 1500m/100g
30$/100g

2ply fine lace weight yarn spun from extrafine merino (average micron count is 19 micron). The yarn is worsted spun so it is smooth and rather strong for its weight. This is non-superwash yarn so it can felt (one advantage of it is that if it breaks it can be spit-spliced very easily). Available for custom orders in any yardage (base is on cones so generally skeins won’t have any knots). Base color is white or off white depending on the batch I have in stock at the moment. can be dye into any colorway.

Pearl 466 – 100% extrafine merino wool – 466m/100g
30$/100g

4ply fingering weight yarn. This is non-superwash yarn so it can felt if treated without care. The yarn gives great stitch definition and as any pure merino hold cables very well. This yarn comes to me in about 50g skeins (and they are usually underweighted, so real weight is 46-50g) so while it is available for custom orders in any yardage I will have to join skeins to achieve anything over 50g and the resulting skeins will have knots (how many will depend on final skein weight). The base color is pure white and can be dyed into any colorway.

Pearl 250 – 100% extrafine merino wool – 250m/100g
28$/100g

5ply DK weight yarn. This is non-superwash yarn so it can felt if treated without care. The yarn gives great stitch definition and as any pure merino hold cables very well. This yarn comes to me in about 50g skeins (and they are usually underweighted, real weight vary between 45-50g) so while it is available for custom orders in any yardage I will have to join heavier skeins from original 50g and the resulting skeins will have knots (how many will depend on final skein weight). The base color is pure white and can be dyed into any colorway.

Limited base yarns

Jade – 100% superfine merino wool (17.5 micron) – 800m/100g

32$/100g

2ply lace weight yarn spun from superfine merino (average micron count is 17 micron). This is strong yarn, but it is non-superwash so felts very easily (one advantage of it is that if it does break it can be spit-spliced very easily). The yarn is unsuitable for gradient dyeing (felts to some extant during the dyeing process) so is not available for custom orders. Will be dyed later into some semisolids and probably discontinued.

Discontinued base yarns

Merino SW 460 – 100% extra fine merino wool superwash – 460m/100g

4ply fingering weight pure merino yarn with superwash treatment.

4ply heavy fingering weight pure merino yarn.

Merino super – 100% superfine (16.5 micron) merino wool – 1800m/100g

Tightly spun 2 ply yarn made with super fine merino wool. 16.5 micron means it is just as fine and soft as cashmere, but as it has longer fibers the resulting yarn is stronger than cashmere yarn of the same yardage. Yarn is non-treated merino and felts very easily.
